Job Description:
As a Junior Graphic Designer, you will play a vital role in bringing our vision to life through compelling and visually captivating designs. We are seeking a talented and motivated individual who can work independently and has a keen eye for detail. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the owner to create designs that reflect our brand identity and effectively communicate our message to our target audience.
Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and visually appealing designs for various printed media, including workbooks, worksheets, flashcards and documents.
- Follow the written brief and translate it into visually appealing, user friendly designs
- Collaborate with the owner to understand project requirements and translate them into creative design solutions.
- Ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines and effectively communicate the desired message.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Willingness to learn about the industry trends and best practices to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to design projects.
- Assist with the preparation of design files for printing and ensure accuracy and quality in the final products.
- Provide input and suggestions for improving design processes and workflows.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Canva - This will be the main program in which you will work
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign is a plus
- A portfolio of your previous design work to showcase your skills and creativity.
- Solid understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and composition principles.
- Strong knowledge and experience in both print and digital design.
- Your own laptop / PC
- A stable Wifi connection and the ability to work through load-shedding
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, meeting project deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in design files and final products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- A passion for psychology and an understanding of how design can impact and enhance well-being is a plus.
