A permanent position has become available within the Risk team. Based in Melbourne, you will play a critical role in supporting the Senior Risk Governance Manager to implement and maintain a holistic risk landscape and management framework for the wholesale portfolios.
This is a very detail oriented role primarily focusing on performing due diligence on new counterparties to ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as Anti-money Laundering. This role also involves policy review and maintenance, document writing, assisting in the negotiation of master agreements and the applying governance frameworks to business activities. This is a great opportunity to apply your skills and knowledge in a new industry where you will be given the support and ability to thrive and learn.
This role is flexible and can be part time (job share) or full time.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform due diligence (Know Your Customer Checks) on new counterparties, and further investigating suspicious activities.
- Monitor existing counterparties in accordance to established policies and procedures.
- Assist in negotiating and establishing International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Master Agreements with new counterparties. This includes developing a high level of knowledge of the legal clause components of ISDA Master Agreements.
- Apply Policy and Framework guidelines to business activities within Trading and Treasury teams to ensure that governance requirements are met.
- Maintain the risk management policies for Integrated Energy Trading and Treasury. This includes working closely with the business to understand changes that need to be reflected in the policies.
- Manage employee due diligence process and governance process in providing delegations of authority to new representatives under the risk management policies.
- Build and maintain proactive and effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
About You
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Strong ability to communicate information verbally and written, consult and work with the team to achieve team goals
- Strong, proactive consultation and relationship building skills with stakeholders
- Proactively drive compliance requirements to ensure compliance with relevant Policies
- Ability to identify, diagnose and escalate issues on a timely basis
- Critical thinking, strong inductive capability to navigate through complex portfolio, transaction and industry environment
- Proactive management of own workload to ensure that deadlines are met, or potential issues are raised early
- Attention to detail while understanding the broader context, striving for excellence
- Experience in utility or financial services markets highly regarded
- Experience in audit, compliance or risk management highly regarded
- Undergraduate qualification in a business or analytical discipline desirable
