Could you be the full-time MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - LEAN SPECIALIST in VIENNA we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your LEAN expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to CHRISTOPH SCHWUNGFELD, Manufacturing Engineering Manager and work alongside passionate, motivated and dedicated teammates.
You'll lead project teams and support team leaders and team members in identifying continuous improvement. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to define and validate the detailed manufacturing process for a new product, perform industrial documentation for the project, define the industrial master data and reduce the standard hours of manufacturing resulting in improving our workflow.
You’ll specifically take care of defining and reviewing continuous improvement measures for the production phase and introduce product and process changes., but also introduce sustainable improvements in production and service areas.
We’ll look to you for:
During the specification and preliminary design phase:
- Provide ideas to the Process Engineer or PIM to guide product definition, improve product manufacturability, and achieve QCD goals.
- Participate in Prouct Design Reviews as required.
- Estimating Process Times.
In the detailed design phase and prior to production readiness:
- Participation in P-FMEA
- Participation in prototype validation, if available
- Request tooling as needed and prepare tooling specifications
- Depending on area: prepare ERP work plans, work instructions and test instructions, this while ensuring good EHS and ergonomic conditions
- Determine sequence of tasks at work centers
- Validation of product design and industrialization by FAR and FAI
- Calculation of the exact process time
- Development of the PME, Logistics and Production departments to act independently in terms of lean mindset and method application
- Moderation of different workshops, holding of coaching and reflection meetings with executives as well as conducting trainings
- Conceptualization and further development of method standards and trainings
- Identification of improvement potentials in processes and the organization
- Ongoing coordination with lean managers from other areas and plants
- Auditing and thus ensuring the level of maturity in the organization
After series production:
- Industrialization of retrofits after technical modifications: Work plans, work instructions and tools.
- Supporting production in achieving QCD goals in manufacturing.
- Participation in continuous improvement workshops. (Example: SIP)
- Contribute to industrial REX on manufacturing processes.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in leading Lean Six Sigma projects and Lean programs and establishing and maintaining Lean work practices and standards
- Technical knowledge in manufacturing engineering, writing work instructions for manufacturing, line balancing
- High technical and methodological competence (e.g. Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, Industrial Engineering, Plant Logistics, Maintenance, Quality), ideally valid Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma certification or comparable training
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- Strong communication and convincing personality with professional appearance and social competence in dealing with national and international teams
- Initiative, creative drive and pleasure in developing sustainable solutions
- Experience working with an ERP system (e.g. SAP) for bills of materials, routings, configuration tracking
- Working knowledge of quality, EHS standards and ergonomics
- Familiar with common IS tools
- Process FMEA, QRQC
- Time Analysis (MTM, MEK, UAS)
